Switzerland is famous for its chocolate, and even the most diet conscience never leave without sampling the local mouth-watering options available in specially dedicated shops all over the country. The Lindt and Sprüngli chocolate factory is mandatory for all sweet tooth fans. Its located a few kilometers south of the city center and has a wonderful free museum (with free chocolate!). Not surprisingly its popular and therefore subject to occasional closure.
Simply driving along Lake Zurich and admiring the fantastic Swiss country scenery is rewarding, and there are many quaint villages along the shoreline to stop in and stroll around.
Uetliberg is a popular excursions out of Zürich. Its a curious attraction based on the planets in our solar system - presented as an outdoors exhibition. The mountain ridge on which its located offers spectacular views of a small example of our own beautiful planet Earth. It this doesnt interest you, the spectacular scenery on the train ride there certainly will impress you.
