Valenciennes is a town situated on the Escaut River in northern France, 124 miles (200 kms) from London and Paris, and 62 miles (100 kms) from Brussels. Visitors from the UK can reach Valenciennes by catching the Eurostar from London’s Waterloo Station to Lille and from there a connecting train to Valenciennes Rail Station. Alternatively, ferry passengers coming from Dover can get to Valenciennes by train from the French seaports of Calais or Boulogne.
