Sydney airport has an annual traffic of over 30 million passengers. Just 9kms south of Sydney, the airport provides excellent facilities for its domestic and international arrivals, with destinations spread across all four continents.
The airport has 4 terminals (Terminal 1 International, Terminal 2 Domestic, Terminal 3 Qantas and Express Terminal). Transport between terminals is provided by an underground Airport Rail Link (www.airportlink.com.au). It connects the International and Domestic Terminals, central Sydney and the Sydney suburbs. You will find Airport Rail Link stations located at Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and a stroll from the Express Terminal. Trains operate every ten minutes at peak times and every 15 minutes at weekends and off-peak times, 05:00-24:00 Monday-Friday, and 05:00-01:00 Friday-Sunday. Qantas and Green and Gold Airport Express buses also provide regular services between the terminals. Travellers transferring from domestic to international flights (either way) may be entitled to the Qantas seamless transfer service.
Bureaux de change and ATMs are situated on departures level 2 and arrivals level 1 of Terminal 1 International. You will find postal and fax facilities provided by Australia Post, positioned in the centre of departures level 2 and the airport bar also offers Internet and email services.
Nine restaurants and cafés are provided at the airport, offering a range of international and Australian cuisine. Options include Astro Café, Bistro Bistro, Blue Sky Café, Hemisphere Café and Shakespeares Pies.
Over 130 retail and service outlets, which include beauty and hair salons, a wine store, an Australian produce shop, international and Australian fashion stores, and an array of speciality stores are available. Toys Can Fly, Sunglasses@Sydney, Future Image Plus, City Convenience Store and MAC Cosmetics are among the stores on offer.
A medical centre is available in Terminal 1 International on level 3, open 08:00-18:00 Monday-Friday and 09:00-16:00 Saturday-Sunday. A pharmacy is also on hand. Further facilities include child activity centres and Kid's Cinemas in the One World and Star Alliance gate lounges.
Amenities for those with disabilities include showers, toilets, ramps and lowered telephones. Wheelchairs are provided by the Tourism New South Wales desk on Arrivals level 1 of Terminal 1 International.
The Terminal 1 International help desk is situated beside the glass lifts in the centre of the terminal on departures level 2.
