Transportation to and From Munich Airport
The airport is situated just off Autobahn A92, between Munich and Deggendorf and may be reached from four motorway exits. You may connect to the A92 from the A99 Munich ring road from both southern and eastern destinations. Otherwise follow the smaller Route 388 from Munich towards Erding, and branch off north for the airport just before reaching Erding.
Commuter trains S1 and S8 both leave every 20 minutes and serve several Munich stations, including the Hauptbahnhof and Ostbahnhof where you may connect to major German cities and destinations in Austria, Switzerland and Italy. The S1 runs from 0536 to 0016 Monday-Sunday, while the S8 operates daily between 0406-0106. Journey times to Hauptbahnhof are around 40 minutes.
Transfer buses are on hand for several regional destinations. The Autobus Oberbayern service to the Hauptbahnhof leaves daily every 20 minutes between 0755-2055. The journey time is approximately 45 minutes. The München Messe exhibition centre is connected by another bus during large exhibitions. The service runs every 30 minutes between 0800-1800, with journeys lasting 45 minutes and is free if you possess an exhibition ticket.
Taxis run from the airport to the city centre in around 45 minutes.
Short-term parking facilities are catered for by the underground car parks P1, P2, P3, P4 and P9. Multi-storey car parks P6, P7 and P8 provide long-term parking, as does the airport hotel underground car park, P26. All have parking spaces dedicated to the airport and offer direct access to the airport. Car park P41 at Nordallee has weekly rates and is connected by a free shuttle bus every 20 minutes.
