Car Rental Madrid Airport - Transportation to and From Madrid Airport
Madrid Barajas Airport is served by taxi, Metro and bus.
The Madrid Metro subway system links the airport with the city. There is no direct airport link to the main rail network. Passengers wishing to connect with the main train stations for travel outside Madrid should use the Metro. The airport Metro station is in Terminal 2 on the connecting corridor to Parking Area 2. Trains run daily from 6:00 - 01:15.
The airport bus to the Plaza de Colon (Route 89) departs from the Arrivals level of each terminal from 04:45 - 02:00, departing every 10 16 minutes.
Official taxi stands are located outside each Terminal Arrivals area. Journey time to central Madrid is around 25 to 30 minutes. Passengers are warned not to accept taxis from anyone inside the terminal.
By road, the airport is well signposted from major thoroughfares. Journey time from central Madrid is 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic. There is access to the M-30 via A-2 or via N-11 (highway to Barcelona). The airport exit is 8 miles from the centre of Madrid. From the M-40 Highway there is access from exit 3, via A-10; and from exit 9, via N-100. Both go direct to airport terminals.
Madrid Barajas Airport has two major parking facilities. These provide both long and short-term parking, plus a short-stay-only area for periods of up-to 30 minutes.
