Car Rental London Stansted Airport - Transportation to and From London Stansted Airport
Stansted is at least an hour north of central London by train, and longer by car if the traffic is bad; rail service is however convenient and access is a lot less busy the Heathrow or Gatwick. With many budget European flights, Stansted is ideal for North London or Midlands residents.
Arrivals and departures are locatead on different levels, with easy access to the trains, taxis and parking.
By car, the airport is situatead next to Junction 8A of the M11 motorway and less than 20 minutes away from Junction 27 of the M25 motorway. Access to Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire is via the A505 and A414, while East Anglia can be reached via the A11, A12 and A120. To the North and Midlands, use the A1 and A14.
By rail, the Stansted Express runs from London Liverpool Street Station (east) every 15 minutes from 0800 to 1700 weekdays and every 30 minutes early morning, evening weekdays and weekends, taking 41 minutes (£15 o/w). From London Stansted, the first service begins at 06:00 every day and the final train departs at 23:59. Local trains also run, taking longer but stopping at local stations in Hertfordshire. Rail works often disrupt the Sunday service.
By bus, you can take the Airbus A6 (every 20 minutes 24/7), which takes more than an hour, but stops at frequent North London points. The Jetlink services run regularly to local towns and those further north.
Taxis are available though theyre likely to be very expensive if you intend taking one all the way to London.
There is a dedicatead pick up area in Zone D of the short stay car park. This pick up facility has a ten-minute free access period.
Parking is available for short or long stays, with prices from £1.6 per 30 minutes, but long stay rates are also offered. For booking information call 0870 000 1 000 (UK) or +44(0) 121 410 5105 (from outside the UK).
