Lindau is located close to Lake Constance and is actually an island that has a rich history. It is connected via a bridge to the mainland as well as by a railway dam. The history of Lindau dates back to the 1st century when the land was still under Roman occupation. This is a unique city as it is located on the borders of three countries namely Austria, Switzerland and Germany.

There are a great many tourist attractions that will interest visitors to Lindau like the Church of St. Stephen that dates back to the 11th century. Other places of interest are the lighthouse at the entrance of the port and the Bavarian Lion statue, the cathedral, church of St. Peter and the old town hall to name a few. Be sure to visit the promenade on the Aeschach side of the lake as well as the main shopping centre here for a huge selection of curious and treats to take back home.
