If you enjoy browsing around museums there is also the Folk Art Museum, with displays of collections from the 19th century of Cypriot Folk Art.

Limassol's most pleasant attraction is the beach. Glorious white sand and crystal clear blue waters is the reason why most tourists flock here each year. Transport

By air
Cyprus has international airports at Larnaca and Paphos, receiving flights from parts of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Taxis and shuttles provide transport from the airports to other points on the island, and are available night and day. Car rental suppliers such as Avis, Hertz and Europcar operate from desks in the airports arrivals halls. Please book car hire in Limassol in advance of travel to secure a booking, and to save waiting hours at the airport.

By car
If you opt for bringing your own vehicle to Limassol, you will need to utilise the car ferries which head to the island from Israel and various ports in Greece, including Athens, Crete, Patmos and Rhodes. Foreign vehicles must have valid registration papers and may not remain on Cyprus for more than three months. International and standard drivers’ licences are permitted.

By train
There is no train system on Cyprus, but many people use European or UK rail systems en route to the island in combination with ferries.

By bus
Buses connect the majority of towns and villages in Cyprus at a reasonable cost, and run fairly regularly, Monday through Saturday, although they can be erratic at times. No buses run on Sundays and public holidays.

By boat
Limassol is the island's major port, and ferries arrive here from Athens, Patmos, Crete and Rhodes, as well as Israel. The ferry traffic to other destinations is limited however, and getting to the other Greek Islands usually involves changing ferries at Athens or another port.
