Mini guide to Goteborg City Airport

The Gothenburg City Airport or the Goteborg City Airport is one extremely popular airport of Sweden as it is the second international airport of the city. This airport was known as the Save Flygplats and even today people who know the name refer to the airport by it. It is a huge airport located about fourteen kilometers away from the heart of the city of Goteborg and lies within the very borders of the Goteborg Municipality.

It is a public airport and serves over seven hundred thousand passengers a year. Apart from the various commercially known airlines there are some of the rescue airlines like the Swedish Coast Guard which operates from this international airport. The airport is very easy to reach from the city of Goteborg as anyone can simply hire a car from any part of the city and ask the driver to take him to the airport which he can arrive in a very short time. This airport is even accessible from the other parts of the country.

For the convenience of the passengers there are also many bus services and taxis which are available from outside the airport. All kinds of important and necessary facilities are provided here to help out the passengers. This airport has even got a historical past as back in the year 1940 a military base camp was built here and this very camp was called esavee after which the airport was once named. The renaming of the airport was done only recently - in the year 2001.
