El Hierro Airport is located on the westernmost point of the Canary Islands and the most southerly point of Spain. The traffic is entirely domestic, the main point of origin/destination of flights being Tenerife Norte, followed at some distance by Gran Canaria and La Palma. The airport has no connections to airports outside the Canary Islands.
A single, two-level terminal building caters for all flights. The levels are designated P0 and P1, with both arrivals and departures on P0. There is one ATM machine on level P0 of the terminal building.
The airport has a café on level P0. Both duty-free and regular shopping outlets are available, with products on offer including perfumes and cosmetics, select chocolates, quality costume jewellery, fashion accessories, tobacco and liqueurs. Two travel agents have outlets in the airport to aid with any further travel plans.
Those who require special assistance or wheelchairs should notify their airlines when booking their flight. Specially fitted toilets and ramps are located across the airport. Designated parking areas are available in the car park opposite the terminal. An airport information desk is located on level P0 of the terminal building.
