Car Rental Dortmund Airport - Transportation to and From Dortmund Airport
Dortmund Airport is located about 14kms east of its city, in the north of the North Rhine and Westphalia provinces. Major autobahns converge on the city and airport from all directions; the A44 runs directly to the airport.
Trains go between Dortmund and Holzwickede train stations (south of the airport) eight times per hour. A shuttle bus is available between Holzwickede Train Station and the airport every 15 minutes between 05:00 and 23:00, with a journey time of around five minutes.
By bus, you can reach the airport from Dortmund train station on the Stadtbahnlinie bus number U47 to Dortmund-Aplerbeck and then transfer to bus number 440 to the airport.
The main A1 (north-south) autobahn runs past Dortmund Airport and connects with the A44 to the airport. Alternatively, the A2 (BerlinEssen) autobahn runs to the north of the airport and connects with the A1.
A taxi into town costs about 17 and takes roughly 30 minutes.
Dortmund Airport has seven car parks, with 3,000 spaces which are charged at daily rates. There is a maximum time limit of 28 days in each car park.
