Dippoldiswalde is a town in Eastern Germany and is a capital of Weißeritzkreis in the Free State of Saxony. It is nearer to the cities of Dresden and Freiberg. This town covers an area of 66.37 km² at an elevation of 375m.
As Dippoldiswalde lies in the train line of the Weisseritz railway and is a prime route for steam locomotives. This town can also be reached by road by taking the federal highway B170 and is just 20Km away from Dresden.
This town can be best discovered by foot as the locations are not easily accessible by any other means of transport. Public transport system is also available for those preferring it.
There are museums and events which reflect the city’s history are exhibited and there are exhibitions during the months of November- February which exhibit folk art and mechanically operated models. Other places to visit are the Gothic Town Hall, Old town Marketplace, Dam Malter, Lohgerberei, Postmeilensäule and other churches.
It is best to explore the city by oneself to enjoy the beauty of the countryside though locals can accompany the tourists for better navigation around the city.
