Detmold:Detmold is a city in east Westphalia in the North Rhine-Westphalia region. It is located southwest from Hanover and approx. 30 Kilometer east of Bielefeld. The south of the city is covered by the Teutoburg Forest. It can be found to east of Bielefeld and about 100 kilometers southwest of Hanover.
Dermold is surrounded by the communities of Lemgo, Blomberg and Meinberg.The national theatre Detmold is a theatre with four play places in Detmold and expanded tour activity. Today the national theatre Detmold presents itself as the largest travel stage of Europe. Half that nearly 600 conceptions in the play time outside by Detmold are completed. The Westfaeli open air museum is the largest of its kind in Germany. The Lippi federal state museum points exhibits displays of the land and culture history and natural history. The museum celebrated 1985 its 150 years of existence.
The yougest museum is the Kite museum which was opened in 2000. But it was closed in 2005. The Erloeserkirche is one of the main churches in the city. It was destroyed after the large fire in the year 1547, but, it was developed again in the center of the city. The city hall was established in the klassizistischen architectural style from 1828 to 1830. The double-barreled staircase with the Saeulenportikus , outside the building is remarkable. The palace was built between 1706 and 1708 by count Friedrich Adolph.
It consists of wing-like pavilions. Originally the palace served as widow seat of the lippischen princesses. The Friedrichstaler channel is a technical monument and today, it is a hydraulic structure. It was built from 1701 to 1704 on instruction of the count Friedrich Adolf.The Fuerstliche castle is in direct proximity of the market place. The castle was built around a pictorial rectangular inner court. Later a partial renovation took place in the style of the Weser Renaissance.
