The best restaurants are in the old town area, and most bars, as well as some lively discos, are located around rue du Roi de Rome. About 6kms out of town, Plage du Ricanto is a lovely beach to visit.
The bustling centre of Bastia is Corsicas main business area, a cosmopolitan town with Baroque chapels, music and film festivals.
Lying right in the middle of Corsica is the vibrant student town of Corte, the islands cultural centre. A variety of excellent walking trails start from Corte, leading to glacier lakes, natural gorges and swimming basins.
By car around the island you can visit Plage de Piantarella, Plage de Tamarone, the fishing village of Cap Corse, and the stunning Archipel des Lavezzi.
