Little Rock, the political, geographical, and financial centre of Arkansas is at the meeting point of its two major regions, the northwestern hills and the eastern Delta. The town today has a relaxed, open feel, a far cry from the dramatic events of the civil rights struggle.

The resort town of Hot Springs offers numerous opportunities for relaxing in natural hot springs, and both the Ouachita and Ozark Mountains offer hiking and climbing options. If you are looking for good places to stay, eat, or drink, your best bets are Little Rock and Hot Springs.
