Perched in the Peruvian highlands is Arequipa, Peru’s second largest city. It is located at the foot of El Misti, an inactive snow-topped volcano, one of over 80 to be found in the province’s “Valley of Volcanoes.” Alongside El Misti is Chachani and its peak Picchu Picchu.

The historic centre of the city has been recognised as a UNESO world heritage site since 2000 for its fantastic blend of Spanish colonial and Andalusian architecture. There are many wonderful sites to visit within this quaint town centre including the 16th c. Santa Catalina Monastery, 18th c. Founders Mansion and Yanahura district.
