There is a little suburb in Amsterdam by the name of Nassaukade. Although this is a very small town with practically nothing in it, there is one place close by that has a few things you will want to see. This is Vondelpark, and here there are yearly events like the Vondelpark Open golf tournament and the Vondelparkloop running contest. On April 30th is when they have the Queen's Day celebrations, which really focus on the children where they provide games and things for them. They also have a freemarket during this time. But besides the tournaments and celebrations, there are a few places here you will not want to miss.

One of the place that you will want to see is the Filmmuseum, which is located in the 19th century Vondelparkpaviljoen. This museum is the national film museum where they show a range of silent films from the 19th century to digital productions. The Filmmuseum also has exhibitions, debates, lectures, and on the terrace in the summer they show open air films.

The open air theatre is the other thing that you will not want to miss. The shows are shown from June to August where they have classical music, dance, cabaret, pop music, musical theatre, and world music performances. This theatre gets a subsidy from the government of the city, so all of the performances are free, but they still ask visitors for donations (just €1).

The last part of Vondelpark that you will be interested in are the many horeca facilities that are there. A few of the bars and restaurants are Groot Melkhuis, 't Blauwe Theehuis, and Vondeltuin. The Vertigo is a the bar and restaurant in the Filmmuseum, and the Vondeling is the bar and restaurant in the open air theatre.
