Hiring an SUV to drive in Icy conditions in the USA

I hired a car for a USA holiday of nearly 2 weeks with the pick up in Spokane, Washington and drop off in Jackson, Wyoming. There were no problems picking up the car or dropping it off to Avis. We had a choice of cars and we chose the Toyota Highlander (SUV) which was All Wheel Drive. It was quite new and operated well. While the US hire car companies don't specify 4 wheel drive or All Wheel Drive to book in advance, the Avis consultant advised us on which of the available cars were All Wheel Drive and suitable to drive in icy/snow conditions.

I have used Carrentals a number of times and found the process very easy. I haven't experienced any problems with the rentals so haven't used any complaints process. I would like more information about 4WD and AWD as we need these for winter travel in mountainous areas, but so far this hasn't been a problem. Carrentals prices have been competitive as I book early. And the cancellation policy is good to have in reserve even though I haven't had to trigger that. I will continue using them.

The Flamingo International Airport is the main international air hub of Bonaire. What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
