An excellent experience.

The car rentals business is clearly seen as a risky undertaking as judged on the high volume of published complaints. I was recommended to use carrentals.co.uk this year when planning a holiday in Madeira. We used their web site and opted for their recommended local car hire company, 'Guerin''. We travelled to Madeira in January and found Guerin to be an excellent company to deal with in all respects. No hidden extras and a friendly service at the airport - both in checking-in and returning. I would highly recommend both carrentals.co.uk and Guerin based on our experience.

A Great Way to Book Your Next Rental Car

I have no issue recommending carrentals.co.uk as an ideal way of finding your next next rental car where ever you are going. We had an issue with Herz over a charge made to our credit card when the battery on the car went flat through no fault of our own and because we had taken insurance out with carrentals.co.uk they were quick to refund the charge.

Efficient booking system

Efficient booking system that clearly showed the vehicles available from each car hire company including their associated cost and insurance service. The 'worry free' filter allowed me to easily identify which deals had full insurance cover without having to trawl through the terms. Will definitely use again.

Flores Airport, located in Santa Cruz and less than a mile from the center, is the only airport serving the small Island of Flores, located off the west coast of Spain far into the atlantic ocean. It is Europe's most western location. In the far distance you will be able to see the 'Corvo Island'. There is also a legend which states that you can see America from Flores Island.

The airport has only one terminal which caters for all flights. It's most common routes are to the mainland airport of Lisbon and to neighbouring Azores islands; Horta airport and Ponta Delgada airport. The terminal building is lacking extensive facilities. Airport and flight information can be found at either the SATA Air Azores Desk (which doubles as the Lost and Found counter) or the Airport Operations Counter, while tickets and flight reservations can be organized at the SATA Air Azores Sales Desk. A tourism information counter is also provided.

The terminal has a bar which serves light snacks, as well as a newsagency and tobacco stand. VIP assistance is available by phoning +469 (0) 292 592 212.

The main access to and from Flores Airport is by way of the island's regional roads. Taxis are available, and the island is also served by a public bus transport network with several lines. We do advise travellers to book a hire car as a means of transportation, especially if you wish to explore the island. What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
