British Airways has announced the introduction of a new route from London Heathrow Airport to Marrakesh. The airline will inaugurate the maiden flight on the route to the heritage Moroccan city on the 28 October 2018.
Flights will operate from Heathrow's Terminal 5 four times a week in each direction with operational days on the timetable for Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Commenting on the announcement of the new flight option, BA's network director said Marrakesh would be a welcome addition to travel options from Heathrow.
Sean Doyle carried on by saying Marrakesh was in a central location in Morocco and a great spot for trips into the Atlas Mountains and from which to access the North African nation's fabulous beaches. He continued by noting Marrakesh itself was a delight too and its markets, monuments and other surreal attractions would not disappoint.
Mr Doyle added as a codicil that BA was pleased to be adding Heathrow to Marrakesh flights to schedules and these would serve as a complement to existing ones from London Gatwick Airport. BA currently operates an eight-times-a-week schedule from London's second airport to Marrakesh.
BA has already opened reservations for the new route, but with single fares currently showing at £133 for the 28 October. These are nearly double the price of BA's flights when flying from Gatwick. Cheaper prices on Heathrow services can be found by allowing more flexibility on departure dates.
