Valladolid Airport Guide

Car Hire

Located in northwest Spain, Valladolid Airport is a moderate-sized facility serving the town of Valladolid and the greater municipality of Villanubla. It is only seven miles to the northwest of the city, which can be travelled by a number of transport modes. Several bus lines connect to the airport and taxis are always available for arriving passengers. However, the most commonly used transport option is car hire in Valladolid Airport.

Who to Book With
There are two reliable car suppliers found at Valladolid Airport. Avis and National Atesa are well-renowned for their reputable service and reasonable prices. Car rental desks can be found in the Arrivals hall of the terminal.

Need to Know Essentials
When renting a car at Valladolid Airport, drivers must present the following documents:

- A valid International Driver’s Licence
- The confirmation booking sheet
- A passport
- The credit card used when making the rental booking

For more info read our FAQ's.

Driving
The streets around Valladolid range from old, narrow laneways to large highways. The roads, however, are generally in great condition. Like other cities and towns in Spain, Valladolid experiences parking restriction issues. Nevertheless, once tourists find a parking spot in the heart of town, they can walk to most spots of interest. Drivers must carry two warning triangles, a spare wheel, spare light bulbs, a reflective jacket and a spare pair of glasses, if needed.

Visit our guide to Spain for further information about driving in the country.

Transport

Tourists can choose from a range of transportation services to get from the airport to downtown Valladolid. Buses are the cheapest option, although visitors may want to splurge on the fast taxi service to the city. Car hire is also available.

Trains
Trains do not travel to the airport. The closest train station to Valladolid Airport, Valladolid-Campo Grande, is found in the heart of the city. It serves high-speed AVE trains to Madrid in addition to slower long-distance services to other locations in Spain.

Taxis
Taxis are available at the airport. Their services are more expensive than buses, but are much faster. All taxis, including those provided by Radiotaxi Valladolid and Taxi Valladolid, provide a flat rate between the airport and the city centre so visitors do not have to negotiate fares. However, for destinations outside of downtown Valladolid, there are two fares offered. The first fare is applied between 07:00 and 23:00, while the second higher fare occurs from 23:00 to 07:00.

Taxi prices:
Valladolid Airport to Valladolid city centre is about £20

Buses
From the airport, Linecar offers bus services. It takes passengers not only to the downtown centre of the city, but also to other locations near to Valladolid. Buses also reach other sites of interest, including the Trade Fair and the central railway station (Valladolid-Campo Grande). Tickets are just over £2 for one-way journeys and about £4 for return journeys. However, the service is not offered 24 hours. Services start at 06:45 and finish at 22:50 every day.

Facilities

Terminals
Valladolid Airport only contains one terminal. It is a relatively new terminal building that began operations in 2000. As a result, it is modern and spacious, and boasts an easy-to-navigate layout. It currently processes about half a million passengers a year, a figure which has increased recently since low-cost airlines such as Ryanair began flying into the airport.

Parking
There is one general car park at Valladolid Airport, situated right next to the terminal building. There are payment machines located outside the exit to the terminal, which are convenient for passengers leaving the facility. The P1 parking site is only a minute’s walk from the terminal. There are more than 260 parking spots available and prices are calculated per minute. A full day of parking at P1 costs about £8.

Wi-Fi
By using a portable electronic device, visitors can gain access to wireless internet at Valladolid Airport. Services are provided by the telecommunications company Movistar.

Information Services
There is an information services booth found conveniently next to the main entrance/exit of the terminal.

Accessibility
At Valladolid Airport, passengers with reduced mobility are well taken care of. Ramp access and lift services make it possible to reach the different levels in the terminal. Restrooms are fully equipped with disabled-passenger facilities. However, tourists with limited mobility should notify their airline while booking tickets as this will allow plenty of time for the airline to prepare for the passenger’s arrival.

Restaurants and Bars
One restaurant cafeteria found at the terminal, Enasui Cafeteria, offers passengers a range of dishes, including sit-down meals, quick snacks, sandwiches, rolls, coffee and other beverages. The restaurant is located within the public zone and operates between 07:00 and 21:00 every day.

VIP Lounges
There are no VIP lounges at the airport.

Money and ATMs
There is only one ATM servicing the terminal. It is operated by Caja Espana Bank and is located on the ground floor of the public zone.

Shopping
Shopping is relatively thin within Valladolid Airport. Enasui offers a small shopping store for passengers in the Departures lounge. It offers limited products, including wines, Valladolid souvenirs and traditional Spanish snacks.
