The Journey of the Olympic Torch

This Saturday, the Olympic Flame is set to begin it's journey across the UK through the hands of about 8000 Torchbearers.

The relay will begin at Lands End in Cornwall and will begin its journey through over 1000 Towns and Cities. The great thing is that, not only will the torch be carried through the big Town's and Cities, it will also be carried through to rural areas such as Sarnau in West Wales to Aviemore in Scotland. These places don't usually get the opportunity to be involved in big events such as this so will be a great opportunity for them to raise their communities profile. We'll be posting our photos of the torch passing our office and if the torch is coming to where you are, we'd love it if you would share your photos on our Facebook and Twitter pages!

The torch is said to be reaching within 10 miles of most of the country which means if you want to see this fantastic occasion, most of us won't have too far to go!

West Wales

If you live in West Wales, you'll be pleased to know that the torch will be carried through Carmarthen, Haverfordwest, Fishguard, Nevern, Cardigan and New Quay and Aberystwyth.

North Wales

If you live in North Wales, you'll be pleased to know that the Torch will be carried through places such as Penmaenpool, Ffestiniog and Pwhelli and Llanfairfechan.

Manchester and surrounding areas!

If you live near Manchester, the torch will be going through Prescot, St. Helen's, Formby and Chorley or if you live closer to Sheffield, you'll be please to know it will be carried through such places like Barnsley, Chappletown and Rotherham.

The North and Scotland

As the torch reaches the top end of the country, it will be carried through such places as Darlington, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Penicuik near Edinburgh and such places as Inverness!

East Coast

The torch will also make its way to the East of the UK, being carried through the seaside town of Great Yarmouth, round the coast to Ipswich, Colchester and Chelmsford.

Wherever you are, the torch will not be far away. Make sure you support your community and get involved and don't forget to take your camera! We want to hear all about what it was like to see the Olympic Torch carried through your Town or City, so make sure to take lots of snaps and share them on our Facebook and Twitter pages!
