THE NATIONAL MEDIA MUSEUM

At the National Media Museum, journey through popular photography, visit IMAX – the world’s most powerful giant screen experience or discover the past, present and future of television in Experience TV. Watch your favourite TV moments in TV Heaven, play with light, lenses and colour in the Magic Factory and explore the world of animation!

Seeing an IMAX film at the National Media Museum is like no other cinema experience. Whether you are watching a classic IMAX film or a 3D IMAX film full of spectacular effects - IMAX makes for a great treat for the whole family.

The Museum also hosts temporary exhibitions in two dedicated gallery spaces and has two world class cinemas with a changing monthly programme showing a variety of films and playing host to three annual film festivals. Visitors can also go behind the scenes and enjoy the Museum’s unique collections in Insight, The Collections & Research Centre.

Every weekend and during school holidays there is a packed schedule of FREE exciting tours, talks and activities for everyone to get involved in.

The museum is open Tuesday - Sunday: 10:00 – 18:00 (closed Mondays except during school and Bank Holidays) and the cinema is open daily from 10:00 until late.
