Like in most countries around the world, Slovakia is plentiful of ways to get around.  Travelers can choose to go by bike, train, or bus, which are all great modes of transportation to get anywhere they want.  However, the ultimately better choice for tourists and other travelers are to book a car with sat nav hire.

In order to drive in Slovakia, a traveler is required to have a driving license, and a permit from their home country is satisfactory for that.  They must also be 18 years of age in order to drive a car.  It is also helpful to know the speed limits of Slovakia when driving a car hire with sat nav.  On motorways the limit is 130 km per hour, on open roads it is 90 km per hour, and in areas that are built-up it is 60 km per hour.

Another thing that is important to remember is that all of the vehicles driven on motorways in Slovakia have to have a motorway sticker, known as a nálepka.  These have to be displayed in the right hand side of the car’s windshield, and they are easy to get.  They can be bought at filling stations, post offices, and border crossings; plus, they have to be valid in the current year.  A second part of the sticker must be kept with you as well to show to an officer on request.

There are many places where car hire with sat nav can be booked, but doing it online is a better option, as car rental companies tend to offer customers promotions and discounts when they place their reservation in advance.  This is a great way to save some money.
