Travelers who are interested in seeing the countryside of Italy will find it well worth their while to rent cars with sat nav to get around safely and without getting lost.  Although the country has an excellent bus service, taking in the scenery of Italy on a bus doesn’t quite cut it.

There are a number of major car rental firms throughout the country, including Eurodollar and Hertz, which are internationally known.  Rates are not as expensive as one would anticipate, as prices start at only 70 per day for a small vehicle.  However, it is easy to save money if the reservation is made before leaving home or at least 2 weeks prior to the rental period.  It is also worth noting that since there are so many international brands of car hire companies in the country, it will be easy to find one that offers a sat nav rental, as most agencies do.

One thing to remember is that travelers have to be 23 or 25 years of age, depending on the rental firm, in order to hire a car.  It is also worth knowing that many of the cars have manual transmission, but automatics can be booked for a high price.

Tourists will notice right off that Italy has an excellent road system, which includes many marvels throughout the mountainous region of the country.  It is worth remembering, however, that Italians often disregard the speed limits and are extremely confident with driving, as well as like to pass other vehicles in a tight situation.  This keeps travelers on their toes, but it happens more in the city areas.
