Traveling in Portugal by car rental with sat nav is one of the best ways to see this amazing country.  There are plenty of internationally known rental agencies spread throughout the country, as well as a few locally owned offices.  This means of transportation may not be the cheapest way to get around Portugal, but it is certainly the most comfortable and convenient.

Traveling anywhere is not as enjoyable if the travel is not convenient and comfortable.  Booking a car hire with sat nav will take care of that problem though.  Plus, for the travelers who are from the United States, they will feel right at home, because they drive on the right side of the road here.

There are some things to note about hiring a sat nav with a car rental, however.  One of these is that the price of car hire is very reasonable, but gas may be a little more than what is found in other countries.  Also, travelers have to be at least age 21, sometimes older, in order to hire a car.  A valid driving license and passport is required for the car rental as well.  Furthermore, travelers are asked to buy insurance and possibly sign an agreement if the vehicle is going to be driven outside of Portugal.

One big caution that travelers should know about is that the country has Europe’s highest accident rate.  These dangers include, careless drivers, the presence of carts drawn by horses, farm equipment, and even bad road conditions.
