Local buses run at regular intervals throughout the day and are a very inexpensive way to travel into the city centre. Journey time is approximately 30 minutes. There is also a dedicated airport bus service which makes various stops around the city centre and in neighbouring districts. This bus departs every 30 minutes and runs througout the day and into the night.
There are two trains which connect the airport with downtown Venice, where you will find links to other cities across the country.
Travelling by boat is probably one of the best ways to reach the city centre from the airport. The Venice Alilaguna hydrofoil runs a regular scenic airport service which takes about 1 hour, while the modern water taxis are a lot quicker.
Taxis can be found outside Arrivals and offer a convenient way to reach the city centre. The journey takes around 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic.
There are often additional charges for luggage and late-night journeys.
If you are driving into the city centre, following the A4 is the quickest route available.
You will find countless parking options when you arrive at the airport, with a number of parking lots offering convenient parking locations close to the terminal building. Car parking fees can be paid at manned payment kiosks throughout the car parks. Spaces closest to the terminal building are reserved for disabled drivers and passengers.
