Car Rental Valencia - Exploring Valencia
One of the chief attractions of Valencia is its mile of nearby beach, and richly agricultural hinterland.
The orange blossom coast - Costa del Azahar - stretches north from Valencia city. With a rich hinterland dominated by spectacular displays of orange blossom every spring, it is also home to the historic Roman town of Sagunto. It includes a Roman theatre and castle, as well as a modern beach resort suburb. Benicasm is another attractive beach resort town.
The interior includes the lovely university town of Castellon de la Plana, the enchanting towns of Morella and Mirambel and the Neanderthal site at Jativa.
Also nearby is the hugely popular Costa Blanca with its miles of beach hemmed in my high rise apartments and rampant tourist development, but lively and fun for the whole family. The towns of Altea and Javia boast interesting old quarters and Alicante is a charming place. Stroll along the white sandy beaches and visit the 16th century Castillo de Santa Barbara which overlooks the town.
Torrevieja is the cultural heart of the Costa Blanca. It is a vibrant town and port in the southern part of the Valencian community and is surrounded by two large natural lagoons which form the well known Salterns of Torrevieja -considered the biggest in Europe.
