Car Hire USA - Mini guide to USA

Love it or hate, America has so much to offer its visitors. From cosmopolitan cities, to historic battle re-enactments to amusements park to unspoilt wilderness areas and coastal regions. At home its people are friendly, organized and helpful, shopping is fantastic and great value, tourist facilities extremely well developed and entertainment endless. But there’s just so much to choose from, you’re have to pick a region or come back again and again.

New York city is America’s most famous city, with many iconic sights on Manhattan island, including the Empire State building, Times Square, 5th Ave (expensive shopping), central park, the and Ground Zero. A short ferry ride out to the Statue of Liberty is a must! New York is fast, up-front, and full of fun. Suburbs such as Greenwich, Brooklyn and the Bronx have their own distinct character.

Washington DC is the nation’s capital, with grand boulevards, plenty of green space, the stately Capitol hill (with massive dome), Washington memorial spine, Lincoln memorial, White House (president’s residence) and exhausting Smithsonian museums. A little quiet by night it is however very user-friendly for tourists.

Boston is the most European and academic of America’s cities, with a proud history, refined culture, riverfront location, important old buildings and interesting suburb of Cambridge, home to Harvard and MIT.

Miami is an exciting city with a distinctly Latino feel, basking in plentiful Florida sun. Miami beach and the obviously camp South beach with its interesting art deco architecture are the places to be seen, while Little Havana is a colourful suburb.

San Francisco has a long reputation for individuality, whether it was the beat generation, flower power or its large gay community. All have left their mark on this hilly city which is perfectly situated on the bay with the Golden Gate bridge as a backdrop. Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf, Castro and Haight-Ashbury areas are all famous, and the atmosphere remarkable.

Visiting Los Angeles is like stepping into a movie, it’s not quite real, full of dreams and has plenty of fame on every corner. Sunset strip, Rodeo drive (ultra-exclusive shopping ), Hollywood, Malibu, Beverley Hills and Santa Monica are all well-associated with the silver-screen. Disneyland and Universal Studios are two other drawcards.
