Car Rental Tokyo Airport - Transportation to and From Tokyo Airport
Tokyo Narita International Airport is 40 miles north-east of the city and can be best reached by train or hotel shuttle bus. It can be found off route 295 (the Higashi Kanto Expressway East) north-east of Tokyo city itself. The Syuto Expressway also passes close by.
Trains are by far the more economical choice. You must reserve train seats however, which can be done at the NEX counter at the train terminal. Trains leave every 30 minutes and the journey to Tokyo Station is 75 minutes. If youre in a hurry theres the Keisei Skyliner Express train. This leaves Narita Station every 30-40 minutes and stops just north of Tokyo Station. The journey takes one hour and tickets can be purchased in the arrivals lobby of each terminal.
Cheap and cheerful, your best bet by bus to Tokyo is 'the Airport Limousine Bus' which leaves from just outside the terminals and goes to the Tokyo City Air Terminal (TCAT) roughly every 15 minutes. From there it is a short trip to all the major Tokyo hotels. Some of the buses even go directly to the hotels.
Taxis from Narita to the centre of Tokyo are amongst the most expensive in the world, with the 90 minute trip costing upwards of 15,000 Yen (US$100).
The airport is linked to the Higashi-Kanto Expressway and Route 295, as well as the cities of Tokyo and Narita, Tako and Shibayama. Security checks are carried out at the road entrance to the airport.
Car parking can be found at Narita Airport in Parking Buildings 1 and 2. Disabled parking is discounted at 50% of the above rates. All major credit cards are accepted for the payment of parking fees.
