Mini guide to Tokyo Airport
Tokyos Narita Airport, situated 40 miles north-east of Tokyo, is a major international gateway for Japan.
Narita, sometimes called The New Tokyo International Airport, consists of two terminals. European airline companies proliferate in Terminal 1 whereas Terminal 2 houses largely Asian airlines. Each of Naritas terminals offer a large number of destinations.
The terminals are about 1 mile apart between which people can travel using swift shuttle buses that leave every 10 minutes. Both boast excellent rail and bus connections with Japan's capital city, Tokyo, as well as the other major airport in the region, Haneda, which now handles mainly domestic flights.
Both terminals offer excellent services with a variety of restaurants, bars, newsstands and shops. Business services, banks and ATMs are also available, along with airline club lounges catering to the needs of frequent, business and first-class flyers. Shops are to be found throughout both terminals offering the usual range of books, confectionery, cosmetics, souvenirs and electrical goods.
Restaurants are available on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of Terminal 1 and on the 2nd and 4th floors of Terminal 2. There you can find a wide range of cuisine, including Japanese, Chinese and Western.
Terminal 2 provides a business centre with fax, photocopying, messenger services, information, secretarial services, offices and meeting rooms. Fax and photocopying services are also available in Terminal 1.
The visually-impaired are aided with tactile flooring, and the rest of the airport provides good facilities for the disabled, including wheelchair accessible telephones and toilets.
Information desks are located on the Arrivals and Departures floors in the main area of each terminal ((+81) 476 322 802).
