Los Rodeos is positioned 9kms by road from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, while Puerto de la Cruz is 28kms away and Los Cristianos 87kms distant. It has a capacity for more than four million passengers a year, and can handle every type of aircraft. TFN is only connected to Spanish cities by scheduled flight, though there are now some regular charters to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, whereas Tenerife Sofia Renia, the other airport on the island is a national as well as an international airport.

TFN however is more convenient as it very close to La Laguna, and for flights from Madrid it has more frequent connections. In case of difficulty with a direct flight you may consider flying to Las Palmas (on the neighbouring island of Gran Canaria) and transferring to Tenerife North on the frequent Air Shuttle (a 20-minute trip). La Laguna lies 3 km from TFN and 80kms from TFS with a motorway link covering the full journey to both airports. Once at the airport, you will find it easy to orientate yourself, as there is only one terminal.

Banking is available at the Caja Canarias which is open 08:30-14:00 most days.

There is quite a good selection of outlets at the airport, including La Casa de los Balcones, López Echeto, Dulces y helados artesanos ( a store selling local sweets and ice creams), Tenerife Deli (with local specialities), Timberland, Levi Strauss and several fashion stores. The Canariensis sells newspapers, tobacco and snack-food.

Numerous food and beverage outlets are available in the terminal, including the Bar Tenerife, Café Careca and Café Rittazza (fast food).

Business travellers will not find a dedicated business centre at the airport, but may receive some assistance by contacting the airport information counter.

Facilities for the disabled include dedicated check-in areas, good wheelchair access throughout the terminal, and disabled toilet facilities. Further assistance is available for boarding aircraft, though passengers are advised to inform their airline of any specific needs, in advance of arrival.
