Car Rental Sydney - Exploring Sydney
Australia is enormous and has lots to see, so a car is essential.
The nearby Blue Mountains offer awesome vistas and the opportunity for a perfectly peaceful overnight stop. Further inland the Snowy Mountains and Mount Kosciusko (Australias highest point) are both popular winter destination for skiers, but still well worth a summer visit.
Alternatively, NSWs southern coast is dotted with little seaside fishing and surfing towns and many wild national parks. Theres a lot of wide open space here, perfect for spotting kangaroos, wallabies and koalas roaming freely among their expansive eucalyptus forest homes.
The Northern coast is a repeat of endless and perfect beaches and small coastal towns, punctuated by picturesque bays, lagoons and forests and tourists are well catered for at the popular stop-off towns of Newcastle, Coffs harbour and Port Macquarie. From here, whale spotting trips are organised in season and provide days out on the vast Pacific Ocean.
Some hours north, the rolling hills become more regular and are reminiscent of the English countryside. Hippie Byron bay is mainland Australias easterly-most point, with magnificent beaches, good surfing and a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Inland, Dubbo and Bathurst are dinkum outback towns with their unique dusty crocodile Dundee atmosphere.
