Situated on the north east coast of England, the vibrant city of Sunderland has undergone a transformation in recent years to become a leading tourist destination. The Empire Theatre is probably the best venue for evening entertainment, offering drama, opera, comedy, ballet and much more. In addition, the city centre has a range of fine dining options, numerous bars and pubs and a lively clubbing scene.

Sunderland is also an ideal base for discovering the treasures of the north east. The ancient city of Durham, with it’s fair-tale castle, cobbled streets and stunning Norman cathedral is just a short drive away. Alternatively, for coastal walks, picnics or a day on the beach, head to South Shields, only half an hour away.

Sunderland is only 10 miles from Newcastle International Airport, offering easy connections to many cities in Europe and beyond.
