Strasbourg is a city that has always been unique, due largely to its location on the French-German border. The Rhine National Opera provides high society entertainment as does the National Theatre. The state library, la Bibilotheque Nationale et Universitaire is the centre of the city’s academic life.
The city also sits on the international line between Hamburg and Milan, giving Strasbourg an enviable geographical position that puts the rest of Europe at its fingertips.
