Also just a short drive away is the Outdoor Campus, an entertainment and learning centre. The Outdoor Campus’ museum includes a great 11,356-litre aquarium complete with many species of fish and underwater life from local lakes. It is a spectacular place to become more familiar with the local Great Plains habitat.

For butterfly lovers, south of the Outdoor Campus is the premier butterfly garden of the Midwest, the Sertoma Butterfly House. Here, during the early and late summer, you will find thousands of butterflies on their migratory route.

The two major highways running through the city are: I-90, going east-west, and I-29, running north-south. From Sioux Falls, I-29 goes west through the Black Hills, into Montana, and all the way to Seattle, Washington. presently, there is no direct rail service to or from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The airport in Sioux Falls is served by several major American carriers and offers direct flights to and from several major American cities.
