SigmaringenSigmaringen is a city in Baden-Wuttemberg, Germany. It is located in the Danube valley. The city is enclosed with hills and a lot of the area is wooded. Sigmaringen has Winterlingen in the north and Scheer in the east. Mengen and Krauchenwies lie towards the south while Beuron and Stetten lie towards the west of Sigmaringen. Traces of human civilization at Sigmaringen have been found since 1077. Until the mid 1800’s the city was under the ruler ship of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen. Later, it was made a province by the Prussians.
Various famous people were born in this city. The Prince Ferdinand of Romania was born here in the year in 1865 and made the King of Romania in 1914.
