The Medieval architecture of the royal mile leads to the Holyrood Palace, the official residence of the queen in Scotland.

To the west is the lively city of Manchester, and the historical port of Liverpool, famously home of the Beatles. Both cities have a distinct atmosphere and offer the visitor a surprising amount of options.
