Seobinggo-dong is a neighborhood within the downtown Seoul district of Yongsan-gu the most ethnically diverse district in Seoul. It is located along the kilometer-wide Han river and surrounds Seobinggo Station, a stop on the national rail system.

Seobinggo lies in the shadow of North Seoul Tower, a communication tower, and popular tourist stop. You can ride a cable car to the top of the mountain and walk to the tower. On the ground floor, you'll find gift shops and restaurants. For a fee, you can go up the tower and look out from four observation decks, the topmost of which is a revolving restaurant.

Yongsan Electronics Market is a retail area in Seobinggo-dong, offering appliances, stereos, computers, peripherals and software, anything electronic you can think of, in over 5,000 stores in 20 buildings. Items sold in the market can be from 20% to 50% cheaper than you'll find elsewhere. Some of the stores have fixed prices, but others expect you to haggle a bit. Be prepared to try out sample merchandise there; it is a pride of the market that you don't have to buy anything you haven't used for yourself.

Also located in the neighborhood is the Yongsan Garrison, a 2.5 square kilometer plot of land that is the United States' military presence in Seoul. Although there can, at times, be demonstrations against the American presence in Seoul, the Garrison has within it a four star hotel and several golf courses, as well as shopping and entertainment options.

There are other sights in Seobinggo and in the surrounding city of Seoul. You can see those places via public transportation, but you may want to hire a car to get yourself to all the places you'd like to see with a feeling of independence.
