Car Hire in Sapporo Chitose Airport - Mini guide to Sapporo Chitose Airport

If you fly to Hokkaid?, Japan, chances are that you will travel via the New Chitose Airport in the nearby city of Chitose. Geographically speaking it is the largest airport in Japan and offers many more services than the smaller Okadama Airport in central Sapporo. But with over four floors of services, including a hotel, you may choose to never leave.

The New Chitose Airport has two connected buildings, the Main Building and the Central Building. The Main Building is a 3-floor crescent shaped building that partially surrounds the Central Building. The central building has four floors and a basement level. The terminals are located in the Main Building along with some of their services. Whether you need a bank, car hire, post office, salon, or a dozen other services, chances are this airport has it. If you want to take in the sites, the airport has an observation deck, or you can visit each floor taking in the Sky Dream Museum, 3 large aquariums, and over 18 large art pieces. Feeling lucky? You can visit the Lottery Ticket Booth and play the numbers or visit the information counter and purchase scratch offs. Open nearly 24 hours, the New Chitose Airport offers practically everything you can imagine for all ages, including a kennel for your pets.

If you decide to continue on to your local destination, you have a lot of travel options at your fingertips. Most airports have either taxi or bus service to get you to your destination once you land. The New Chitose Airport offers bus, taxi, and car hire, as well as a rail services. If both the train nor bus travels to your destination, and you don’t want a taxi, you can choose from over 11 car hire services located on the first floor of the central building.
