San Francisco International Airport, located 14 miles South of San Francisco, serves the city, Silicon Valley and the wider Bay Area. One of the Nation's busiest airports, SFO handles domestic flights and international connections to and from the Pacific Rim, Europe and Latin America.
San Francisco International Airport currently has three terminals, with a recently completed new international terminal. Terminal 1 serves Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest, TWA, Air Canada and Alitalia. Terminal 2 is currently closed for renovation and Terminal 3 serves American Airlines, United Airlines and Canadian Airlines. The new International Terminal serves 25 of the largest Asian and European airline companies. The terminals are connected by the AirTrain, a modern people mover.
Bank of America is the main bank within the airport, operating ATMs in all terminals. Currency exchange is available in all terminals and boarding lounges, and is open daily from 06:30 22:30. Mail boxes and automated post offices are located in every terminal.
Cafes, restaurants and bars are in every terminal. Shopping is also well provided for, with four duty-free shops situated in the International Terminal: two in both boarding area A and G. A duty-free kiosk is in terminal 1, boarding area B and another at terminal 3, boarding area E. Terminal 3 also has a good selection of stores: a toy shop, an aviation memorabilia store, cosmetics outlet and bookshops amongst others.
There is a pharmacy, clothes shops, travel goods store and many other shops in the International Terminal. On the ground floor of Terminal 2, you will find a medical centre.
A business centre is situated at the International Terminal (northside) in the main hall near the ticket counters. Individual work spaces are available, Pentium computers with business software and internet connections, printing, copying, laptop computer connections, fax facilities and staff support. Meeting rooms are also provided by the centre, with web-conferencing available if required. No business facilities exist in Terminals 1 or 3.
The airport is accessible for physically challenged people and airline staff can help passengers before departure or upon arrival. TDD phones are situated throughout the airport for hearing-impaired travellers. Disabled car parking is also on-hand ((+1) 650 877 0227).
