The second largest airport in Austria, Salzburg Airport, also known as WA Mozart Airport, is a modern, regional airport serving both domestic and international flights operated by many major airlines. The airport was named after the local composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is located only four kilometres from the city centre of Salzburg and about two kilometres from the Austrian-German border.
Airlines operating from the airport include Aer Lingus, Austrian Airlines, Flybe, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Ryan Air, Thomasfly, SkyEurope and HLX.com, which have flights to many destinations in Germany, Norway, the United Kingdom, France and Spain.
The airport boasts a full range of facilities. A self-service restaurant and a childrens play area can be found on the first floor, while baby-changing rooms are provided in the public area and in the Transit Hall. Other services include a modern first-aid office with qualified staff, a lost and found office and many shopping areas. Several restaurants are located throughout the terminal.
There are two conference rooms provided by Airest, located on the first floor. Each room can cater up to 20 people. Alternatively, the Dachcafe also offers a room with a capacity for 40 people.
The airport is disabled-friendly and equipped with special toilets and washrooms. Staff at the airport will readily provide assistance. There is an exclusive lift for those with walking disabilities. Parking spaces for disabled passengers are reserved in the multi-storey car park near the stairway exits 2 and 4.
