Car Hire in Russia - Getting to Russia
The national airline is Aeroflot Russian International Airlines with ten other airlines serving the Russian Federation. Moscow has three domestic airports and there are daily flights from Europe, New York, Hong Kong and other Asian destinations. There are express trains and buses leaving for the city centres at regular intervals, as well as car hire and taxi facilities.
There are various train connections from London with the main route being LondonBrusselsCologne/BerlinMoscow. There are through trains or coaches from other Western and Eastern European cities and from Turkey, Iran, Mongolia and China. The famous TransSiberian Express runs internally from Moscow to Vladivostok, where you can catch a connecting train to Beijing.
There are limited cruise and ferry services between Russia and Finland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Turkey and Georgia.
Regular Eurolink buses connect major cities with the rest of Eastern and Western Europe. Foreign tourists may drive their own cars and there are crossing points between Russia and all neighboring countries. Those entering by car should have their visas registered at place they will stay for the first night, and should ensure that the car registration number is recorded in the visa.
