Car Hire in Rosslare - Getting to Rosslare
Rosslare is located in the southeastern corner of Ireland in the county of Wexford. The port city is well serviced by road and rail, and receives regular ferry traffic from the UK and France.
Dublin International Airport is located to the north of the capital and is only 2 hours, 30 minutes away from Rosslare by car. Aircoach runs a service from the centre and south of DUblin to the airport, 24 hours a day every day. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver and cost approximately 6 one-way or 10 return.
If youre driving from Dublin, take the N7 and M7 motorways heading west and exit left on to the M9 after approximately 40kms. Follow the M9 on to the N9 main road, and then turn left at Kilgowan to link up with the N81 north of Baltinglass. Carry on south along this road, then on to the N80, N11, and N25, which runs to the harbour and the town centre.
Irish Rail provides a daily train service to Wexford and Rosslare from Dublin, pulling in at the Rosslare Strand in the town centre and at Rosslare harbour.
Bus Eireann operates to Rosslare from Dublin Airport twice daily, via Wexford. The earlier bus (13:35 departure) only goes as far as Wexford, connecting with the later bus and going on to Rosslare at 18:20. Rather than wait, take the local bus or train the rest of the way. The later bus leaves Dublin Airport at 15:00 and arrives in Rosslare at 18:20.
Stenalines operates two return car ferry crossings daily to Rosslare from Fishguard in Wales (3 hours, 30 minutes), on the Konigen Beatrix super ferry. The high-speed Stena Lynx III car ferry also departs on a roundtrip journey twice daily (1 hour, 50 minutes).
Pembroke Irish Ferries cruise ferry offers two daily crossings (3 hours, 45 minutes). The company also provides services from Le Havre and Cherbourg, France.
