Reze
A major suburb of the city of Nantes in the Pays de la Loire region, Reze is a destination with a small selection of sightseeing attractions of its own but is perhaps best suited to being used as a base from which visitors renting cars can explore some of the better known and more scenic locations in the Loire Valley.
A modest selection of architectural treasures makes up Reze’s sightseeing options. The Church of the Rosary on Lorraine Alsace street is especially notable, dating back to 1960 and the product of a design by Jean Rouquet. The Radiant House is the work of Le Corbusier and dates back to 1955.
Other buildings of interest include the 18th century Castle of Balinière and the impressive contemporary-looking Town Hall which dates back to 1989.
Reze is the ideal destination for lovers of the great outdoors, offering a number of opportunities to get out into nature and enjoy walking and other outdoor pursuits. The Meadows of Sèvre are an especially popular spot for walkers, offering two distinct trails while the banks of the Loire River also lend themselves well to hours of pleasant strolling.
Reze can be reached by train from Paris in just over two hours with direct connections available from Charles de Gaulle airport. Nantes has its own airport which receives mainly regional and domestic flights but has some services to London and other major European cities also.
