Located in France’s Bas-Rhin department, Reichshoffen is a small town and commune with a relatively low-key status as far as visitor destinations go. Other than a mention in the name of a Franco-Prussian military conflict known as the Reichshoffen (the Battle of Wœrth), it has also managed to avoid an abundance of historical references.
The town offers a small selection of interesting sights, all of which can be easily reached in a hire car, making it a destination worthy of a daytrip or weekend break. The Church of Saint Michel is among the more notable landmarks, with a bell tower that stands a lofty 72 metres high and can be seen from almost anywhere within the town limits.

The highlight of any sightseeing tour, however, would have to be the remains of the old military ramparts, which date back to medieval times. The northern tower, also known as the Tower of the Swedes is the most impressive of the remains.
The Historical and Industrial Museum is certainly worth a visit, especially if you are at all interested in French heritage. Housed in a building which dates back to 1759, the museum was formerly known as the Museum of Iron on account of ironworks providing the predominant theme of its collection of exhibits.
Reichshoffen is situated less than 30 miles from the major city of Strasbourg and can be reached easily by public transportation options.
