If you like technology, there is no better place for it than an excursion to the Cromford site (about 1 km east from the town centre) here you will find several industrial buildings dating back to the 18th century filled with information about what working life was like three hundred years ago. Opening times vary seasonally so check ahead to avoid disappointment.
There is also the Church of St. Peter and Paul to see and, somewhat uniquely, the church still exhibits all of its old plans and construction drawings for the public to see, providing a fascinating excursion. When you have worked up a good thirst with all that sight-seeing, you can enjoy Ratingen’s “urtümilche” pubs and the town’s home-style bistros.
