One of the two main airports in Tuscany, Pisa International Airport, also known as Galileo Galilei International Airport, is about two kilometres north of Pisa. The name Galileo Galilei was given to the airport after a world-famous scientist who was originally from the town of Pisa.

The airport operates flights to more than 30 national and international destinations. There are also charter flights to several European cities and other destinations in the world.
