Glasgow Airport, with its trans-Atlantic flights, is only 75 minutes drive from Perth, while Edinburgh and Dundee Airports are less than half an hour away and the travel time from Aberdeen Airport is around 90 minutes. These air links offer direct, scheduled flights from many destinations in the UK and Europe. There is also an excellent internal flights network to Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow airports via London, Manchester, Birmingham and Dublin.
Perthshire has six railway stations with rail links to the south through both Edinburgh and Glasgow. There are some direct services from London taking less than six and a half hours. There are stations at Perth, Gleneagles (for Auchterarder) and Dunkeld.
An excellent network of Scottish Citylink and National Express coaches links Perthshire with every city and major town in Britain. Buses are available to access almost every corner of this wonderful area. Regular buses serve all our main towns, while school buses and postbuses take passengers to some of the most remote parts of Perthshire.
A good highway runs south across the Firth, making it possible to reach Edinburgh within 30 minutes, and there are good routes north to Inverness and Aberdeen. Weather can occasionally affect routes in Scotland, but UK roads are well maintained, efficient and safe.
