Mini guide to Paris - Maillot
Paris – Maillot
The inner city Metro station of Maillot is home to the city’s Line 1 route, which was first in service in July of 1900. Being the terminus of Line 1, the trains do not need to reverse, as there is a loop.
Line 1 is approximately ten miles in length spanning from La Defense-Grande Arche to Chateau de Vincennes, travelling east to west across the scenic city of Paris. The station also serves Line C of the rapid transit system, also known as RER. This line is 115 miles in length and travels from Pontoise all the way down to Saint-Martin d’Etampes and also Verailles-Chantiers.
The small Metro station has an old, charming design with marble floors and Art Nouveau entrances. Restrooms, ATMs, small convenience stores and vending machines can be found throughout the station. Outside of the station there is an array of cafes, bars and restaurants. With many hotels at the station’s doorstep, spending the night in the area is an option.
Buses and taxis are available at the Maillot Metro station, or hiring a car is a possibility. The city has direction signs in French and English, making driving very easy. A hire car gives you the advantage of seeing the beautiful city at your own pace. Book a car online in advance for the best rates and availability.
